"2008 Competitions and Special Events" This years carving series theme: "Making A Scene"

| May 2 - 4 | At the Quincy mall - Quincy, Illinois - During the annual Dogwood days celebration. LogHoggers in association with the Illinois Rail-splitters, Red Liners Car Club, Great River A.B.A.T.E. and Quincippi Island's Friends of the Log Cabins present "A chainsaw carvin', rail-splittin', car, truck and motorcycle show." Multiple artist from throughout the country will be demonstrating Friday, Saturday and Sunday works of art on display will be available for sale. Speed carving competitions will take place daily. A carving auction will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. This will also include the trees and shrubs donated by Leffer's Landscaping, used to decorate the auction tent, as well as various other items. Red liners Car Club and Great River A.B.A.T.E. will host a Saturday show and shine and Sunday car show. The award ceremony will accompany the carving auction. | July 16 - 20 | The Great Jones County Fair - Monticello, Iowa - LogHoggers 5 - professional artist speed carving competition. $10,000 plus in prize money. 4 - 75 minute speed carving competitions daily Wed. - Sat. and 1 on Sun. carving auctions Thursday, - Sunday. | August 6 - 10 | The Winnebago County Fair - Oshkosh, Wisconsin - at the Sunny view Exposition Center. 15 pro artist competition. $15.000 plus in prize money. The main event carving will consists of 2 logs 6' long between 18" and 24" in diameter. The objective is to create a scene using multiple smaller pieces rather than one large log.
